Biomedical Science Concentration


Biomedical Science focuses on the biology, chemistry, and medicine of human health through interdisciplinary coursework. This area of study requires coursework in biological, chemical, and laboratory science to gain knowledge, skills, and abilities focused in the study of biotechnology, instrumentation, and healthcare research. The concentration is supported by basic science courses like anatomy and physiology, cell biology, water quality, biochemistry, quantitative chemistry, microbiology, genetics, molecular biology, immunology, mathematics and statistics, hematology, and laboratory instrumentation. Biomedical sciences have a wide range of academic, research, and industrial applications supporting the future of medicine. This concentration provides flexibility in degree planning to tailor student coursework for employment in modern medicine including a comprehensive program that supports graduate work and professional degrees in any related field of medicine.
