PHYS 1020 - Concepts: Electromagnetism, Light, and the Quantum World Credit Hours 3 Prerequisite: Deficiencies in reading, writing, and mathematics must be satisfied prior to taking this course. Corequisite: PHYS 1021 ; Description: Topics covered include electricity and magnetism, light, atomic and nuclear physics, and relativity. The course emphasizes the role of physics in the understanding of everyday experiences in our technological society. The approach is conceptual with a minimum of mathematics. Basic mathematical concepts such as number operation, percentage, proportionality, ratio, and graphing are applied throughout the course.
